Broadgate Advisory acquisition gives deVere enhanced Southeast Asia footprint
I’m excited to report that deVere has secured the acquisition of Broadgate Advisory in Thailand, giving us greater reach and a more in-depth resource in the lucrative Southeast Asia financial advisory sector.
Broadgate Investment Advisory Securities, to give it its full name, is the only expatriate financial advisory company that is fully licensed and regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand.
Broadgate will continue to operate under its own name, under the guidance and control of deVere, giving us significantly greater access to expatriates and global investors who are living, working or retired in that region.
Key growth opportunity
We’ve long seen Southeast Asia as a major growth opportunity, having evidenced a rapidly growing demand for independent financial advice and our Broadgate Advisory acquisition is a perfect way for us, as a Group, to capitalise on that.
One of the many reasons we acquired Broadgate was for the fact it operates in a very similar way to ourselves, offering bespoke, flexible, independent financial advice and financial solutions to investors.
The majority of competition in the region is from banks which, historically, have subsidiaries that manage mutual funds. Whilst we will have no hesitation incorporating such funds into our recommendations if they’re right for the individual investor, being able to draw on a much larger range of investment opportunities and create truly tailor-made investment packages is what gives Broadgate – and, of course, deVere – a unique selling point in a considerable, affluent and growing Southeast Asian investor market.
Capitalising on new investor markets
At deVere, we’re always looking to capitalise on new and developing investor markets through expansion and acquisition. Broadgate Advisory is a prime example of our thirst for growth and follows our successful acquisition of Acuma, a United Arab Emirates-based advisory firm, back in July.
I’m sure there’ll be more to follow as we continue to identify and extend our reach into new, exciting and profitable opportunities and markets around the globe.
