I’m extremely pleased to report that various members of the deVere United Kingdom team have recently been promoted, thanks to their ongoing success and commitment.
We strongly and actively encourage everyone to strive for promotion within the deVere Group, and thanks to a great deal of hard work, drive and energy, the following individuals have done just that.
Chris Barry, is now Head of Retirement at deVere United Kingdom. Chris joined deVere in 2015 and brings with him considerable experience in the fields of retirement and pension planning.
Having successfully developed our Pension Review Team, he is now Head of Retirement with a focus on leading our pioneering initiatives in the retirement arena.
His remit includes the confirmation of suitability for all pension transfer transactions conducted by deVere United Kingdom as well as ensuring appropriate resources are made available in the pension transfer market.
As Chris says: “With a plan to aggressively develop our operations in the UK market place, this is an exciting time to be part of deVere.
“It’s incredibly fulfilling to be able to use my knowledge, skills and qualifications to help build a market-leading and industry-shaping retirement and pensions service to our fast growing client base.”

Joining Chris on the promotion ladder is Lee Grimshaw, who is now Head of Technical Development.
Lee’s role is to provide technical support to deVere’s independent financial advisers across the UK.
As Head of Technical Development it is Lee’s job to lead our initiatives in the development of our financial planning offering and to be a source of technical reference for the enhancement of our advisory function. He also plays a key support role in the development of deVere United Kingdom’s business development opportunities.
Lee has considerable experience at deVere, having worked alongside Mitch Hopkinson, Head of deVere East Midlands, for 10 years as a Senior Paraplanner then Head of Paraplanning. He joined deVere United Kingdom some three years ago.
Before joining deVere East Midlands, Lee qualified from Nottingham University with a BA Honours degree in business and finance and cut his teeth in the business world with seven years at Towergate Finance as a Paraplanner and Trainee Financial Adviser. Over the years, Lee has accrued many financial industry qualifications and certifications and is now a Fellow of the CII.

Victoria Hames was also promoted recently, and her job title is now Head of Operations.
As Head of Operations, Victoria leads deVere United Kingdom’s administrative and back office infrastructure, providing vital organisational support to our frontline advisers and senior management.
Victoria started with deVere in London, working closely with Kevin White, our Head of UK Financial Planning for six years.
Known for her efficiency and strong work ethic, Victoria now co-ordinates the behind-the-scenes activities that are enabling us to forge ahead so confidently, as we develop and enhance our already robust position in the UK market.
In her own words: “Providing the best service to our clients involves a support team structure that has to be efficient, highly informed and committed to the goals of deVere United Kingdom’s independent financial advisers and their clients.
“Being able to co-ordinate this activity not only gives me great job satisfaction but it’s rewarding too, as our market share continues to grow with pace and vigour.”
Victoria is a BA Honours graduate of the University of Lancaster and during her tenure at deVere has gone on to gain certifications in International Securities and Investments and Wealth Management.
