I’m pleased to confirm that the Workplace Solutions division of deVere United Kingdom, part of deVere Group, one of the world’s largest independent financial advisory organisations, has named Simon Chrystal as its Managing Director and Paul Butler as its Operations Director.

Both Simon and Paul will manage the ongoing development of the Workplace Solutions division that was launched earlier this year.

As the former Head of Oval Pensions Solutions, Simon Chrystal is also a major figure on the Incentive Exercise Monitoring Board, which involves representation from the Pensions Regulator (TPR), the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the TUC and CBI, having been part of the initial Working Group that produced the Code of Good Practice for Incentive Exercises.

Paul Butler comes to Workplace Solutions from a senior directorial position at NGIA Limited, and previous top level roles at Oval Financial Services.

Both appointments follow the acquisition of NGIA Limited from deVere United Kingdom, and we’re thrilled that two such talented, dynamic, respected professionals will be at the helm of this brand.

Workplace Solutions provides expert advice to current and former employees of corporations in order to help them reach their long-term financial goals, and I’m very pleased to say a number of major contracts have already been signed with multinational companies.

Simon Chrystal discusses his new role: “It’s extremely exciting to be joining deVere’s Workplace Solutions for two key reasons.

“Firstly, there is soaring demand for a fresh approach to traditional retirement planning strategies.  This has primarily been driven by the new Pensions Bill, initiated from the Freedom and Choice agenda, as introduced by Chancellor George Osborne in March 2014.  This will include pension transfers where an individual looks to access the new freedoms available within defined contribution schemes, but requires an individual wishing to transfer out of a defined benefit scheme to take independent financial advice.

“Secondly, deVere is wholly committed to using its considerable resources to set the pace of improvement for the industry by launching Workplace Solutions.”

Paul Butler adds: “We are looking forward to taking the already successful Workplace Solutions division to the next level as we move forward in to the new era of pension freedoms and flexibilities.  As a team we pride ourselves on being ‘specialists in people’ whose overarching motivation is to enable clients to reach, even exceed, their financial planning and retirement objectives through communication, education and top quality, independent advice.”

I am confident that the Workplace Solutions division is destined for even bigger success and will truly shape and lead the pensions industry which is currently undergoing monumental change.
