What does it mean to be grateful? Most people say they are thankful and grateful for the things they have. Many people realise they are luckier than most others. Yet, we want more. When you take into consideration what it means to be grateful, there are a few key things I would like to share.
1: Be grateful for what you have – every single day
A good place to start is with starting each day with a thought of gratefulness about what you have. Don’t put energy towards what you don’t have. Having this frame of mind as the first thing you think about each day will give you the ability to remain motivated to achieve more.
2: You’re in charge of your success.
It’s a misconception that other people will make you happy. Rather, only you know what will make a difference in your life and provide you with the satisfaction and content feeling you desire. Don’t let anyone hold you back, nor blame them for your lack of success of happiness.
3: View life from another’s point of view
Sometimes, the best way to see things is to do so from another’s point of view. It’s easier to connect with others when you can see life from where they are standing.
4: Utilise visualisation
This is an important one. Use visualisation as a way of setting goals, pacing your future, achieving your goals, and creating an idea of what your life should be.
5: Put down the tech for a while
Sometimes, it’s best to truly tune out the world. Give the people around you 100 per cent of your attention. Connect with them without technology.
6: Make the time for family
Most importantly, spend time with your friends. You need to bring your parents back into the forefront of your life. Cherish the time you have with them.
7: Just take the time to smile
No matter what you are talking about, smile.
8: Focus on your health
Invest the time in your health. This means getting enough sleep, eating healthy foods, getting daily exercise, and being physically active throughout your day.
9: Make an effort to always be polite
Always say please and thank you. It takes no time and no money to be polite but it is one of the most important steps in creating a positive impression.
10: Love with passion and action
View love as a task. It should be something you work on every day. Put regular effort into spending time with other people and interact with them. Show them you love them.
11: Always be yourself
More clearly, always be authentic in everything you do.
12: Be actively focused
When creating tasks, always focus on creating healthy habits rather than focusing your attention on your results. You want to be sure you see everything around you.
13: Take time to inhale
Walk outside every day and take a deep breath.
14: Keep tech out of the bedroom
It’s a simple recommendation. No TV, phones, or anything else in bed.
15: Invest in reading
From personal development books to those that help you to unwind, find something to read every single day.
16: Do it well
Whatever you are doing, do it 100% or don’t do it at all.
17: Create a kindness
Your single random act of kindness will spur many more throughout your life and others.
18: Physically touch others
Keep it appropriate, but hug, kiss others and touch their arm. Show love.
18: Use your smile
Change the day of those around you by simply smiling at them. That smile is easy to do and incredibly beneficial for those who receive it.
19: Be the action taker
Don’t sit on the sidelines. Be the person that sees the value in taking action. Also important is not procrastinating. You want to be positive, motivated, and always on the move.
20: Be the person that works hard
Life is your masterpiece. It’s exactly what you put into it. Are you proud of it?
21: Find people that inspire you
Surround yourself with people that inspire you specifically.
22: Tell people something good every day
Spreading compliments around is one of the most engaging things you can do.
23: Make developing yourself a priority
Invest time in a vision for your life and then find the professionals to help make it possible.
24: Be responsible for you
Again, whatever you want is what you’ll get only if you put the time into your success, happiness, money and love.
25: Use your brain on your own
Don’t allow others to cloud your views and thoughts. Protect your views from other people.
26: Always live in the moment
Savour the life you are living. It’s worth it to your future.
27: Become the positive light in your life
Your positivity will create an incredible quality of life for you. Always find the positive and focus on it.
28: Find a way to help someone
It’s not always easy to give of yourself, but giving of yourself helps to define who you are. Make sure you are continuously looking for others to support.
29: Make saving money your first priority
You should be saving money, not spending it. Don’t create a situation where you need more money to be happy.
30: Try to understand others
It’s not easy to see another person’s view. However, it’s always your goal to seek out what you don’t know so you can understand.
