In today’s fast-changing and increasingly globalised and competitive world, it is harder than ever for graduates to make the right decision when it comes to selecting a graduate scheme.

This important life choice could – and possibly should – have a profound effect on the rest of their lives.

On every level, there’s so much more competition today for university-leavers and a lot of things they must carefully consider.

Whilst salary is important in a good graduate scheme, there are other questions that must be asked too, such as ‘What are the chances of a permanent position after the scheme?’ ‘What longer term career opportunities are there to further my development and qualifications?’ ‘Is this company actively growing?’, ‘Is the industry in which it operates one that will continue to thrive in decades to come?’…

What defines a successful graduate scheme is, naturally, totally subjective. But, wisely, most graduates primarily look to larger companies who have been established for many years.

deVere Group’s two-year graduate programme was launched this year, offering applicants the opportunity to learn the role of a financial adviser, in a very ‘hands-on’ environment.

This can lead to stellar career prospects in the financial services industry, which although can be very demanding, is also extremely rewarding.

They’ll also get the chance to travel, and have the opportunity to work in some of the most dynamic cities on the planet.

A globally-focused career

The deVere Group Graduate Programme’s training begins at our Malta administration and support office and graduates are then given the choice to relocate to another deVere Academy in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, Malaga, Moscow, New York or Shanghai.

Our recruits receive invaluable help and one to one support from our network of established advisers, trainers, and managers, as well as mentoring from senior deVere staff, to help them achieve their dream career.

Whilst in training, graduates will be working with international high net worth clients, alongside some of our most successful consultants, to benefit from real, ‘hands-on’ experience.

The Graduate Programme is a fast-track route to success.  Some recruits are ready to begin their careers in financial services ahead of the set two-year programme, and become fully-qualified wealth professionals usually at a location of their choice.

In my experience, ambitious, determined and passionate people are the highest-achievers in our industry.  From my 15 years in the sector, I know that working hard can reap great rewards for both the adviser and the client.
